This winter has me longing for a cozy spot to snuggle up and read a good book. You know the kind of space where you can just grab a cup of tea, your favorite throw, and just sit for hours forgetting about the world outside? I’ve been in that mood lately. Sometimes the world just moves too fast and I just want everything to stop for a few hours just so I can have some guilt free me time. Know what I mean?

I have so many projects going on in my house, but there’s one that is still just a dream. I remember when we first bought our house and walked into the first space, we call it the living room. I instantly could envision what I wanted this space to look like eventually.
I wanted a space that was cozy, bright, fun without being too casual. Where we can play board games or work on a puzzle.
Or entertain guests for holiday dinners.
But when we were feeling cozy we could curl up in our oversized chairs, grab a cup of tea and read a book.
Sort of a reading/breakfast nook?
I got a lot of blank stares, and I still do. Because what would I call it, a game room? A library? A dining area? I don’t know.
All I know is that when I picture this imaginary room, I get butterflies.
So I’ve been browsing the internet, as I often do…maybe too often. And perusing through my favorite home décor and furniture stores. And I’m realizing this stuff ain’t cheap! I mean, the only large piece of furniture we’ve had to buy was our sectional, and that was a huge splurge for us being that I get most of my stuff from the trash. Pretty much, yea.
But I was honestly shocked at how expensive sitting chairs can be. You can end up spending more on one stinkin’ chair than what I did on my entire sectional.
Like this Duncan Fyfe Linen Wing Chair that’s on sale for $2,799!? What a steal!
No, thanks.

But I have found some pretty nice chairs. I’m talking the melt into the cushion kind of chairs. Those are the kind I want in my imaginary room. I gave myself a budget of $350 per chair. I figured a $350 chair I can handle. $3,500? Never in my life.
Melt in your cushion reading chairs

But I honestly think the winner is one of these two. There’s something about that two toned look that I’m loving right now. Which one should I choose?
