The 5th Street Story dining room is full of amazing details. It is such an elegant space for entertaining guests! Joanna chose a lot of dark accents for this space to balance out the black fireplace mantel. If you remember from watching the episode Joanna went back and forth about whether or not to paint the mantel, but in the end she decided to leave it black and I love that she did! One of my favorite pieces in the room is the Paula Deen Home Dining Table, paired with the Captain Mike’s Side Chair. The turned legs of the table and chairs are so beautiful! On the buffet table across the room is the ever popular Magnolia Market “Light as a Feather” scale. Unfortunately it has been discontinued, however I have found a few almost exact alternatives here and here.
Of course I cannot talk about this room without mentioning the beautiful black iron chandelier. It looks as though it were hand forged by a blacksmith! This chandelier adds even more character to the room making it one of my favorite light fixtures. Finally the last thing that completes the room and really ties in the paint color and the greenery is the rug. While Joanna tends to prefer neutral more subtle rugs, this one is just lovely with it floral pattern and light greens and blues. It is the perfect amount of brightness and color this room needed to balance out all the dark accents and furnishings.
