Fun Fact about Catholics: Christmas doesn’t end until January 11th!
Ever wonder where the 12 days of Christmas came from? That’s part of Catholic Tradition! The 12th day of Christmas is generally January 6th. In fact, the popular tradition used to be to exchange gifts on the 6th, in celebration of the Epiphany and, traditionally, the day Jesus received his gifts from the Magi.
Christmas season ends on January 11th, when we celebrate The Baptism of The Lord.
So, now you know! Christmas isn’t over!
Which is awful helpful when your blog randomly decides to stop working during the busiest time of blog season, and you’re running around frantically trying to play catch up. So here I am…remember it’s still Christmas for me… sharing my Secret Santa gift!
One of my favorite people / bloggers (and she happens to be a Michigander too) Sara from Shabby Grace Blog coordinated a Secret Santa Swap between a group of blogger. We had to shop for another blogger, using a small survey and their blog as a guide.
The best part about shopping for my Secret Santa was getting to know the blogger that I was shopping for. And my Secret Santa hit the nail on the head. My Secret Santa was Michelle from Our Crafty Mom. And I happen to be her Secret Santa too! Michelle has a down home feel, with some really cool DIY projects. She just recently switched to her own self hosted site, which is a huge undertaking, and I love her new space! Go check her out and tell her I said hello!
Here are some of my favorite posts from Our Crafty Mom:
Michelle sent me this lovely blue vase and a candle. I told her in my survey that I love decorating with blues and greens, so this vase will fit perfectly into my decor. and it’s just in time, because I’m building the other side of my fireplace built ins and have the perfect spot for it!
Apologies for the low light iPhone photo. Of course I would lose my SD card for the 3rd time. wamp, wamp.
