Hi friends!! I know I’ve been a little MIA lately. There’s so much going on over here, there are some days where I don’t even get a chance to do a project, let alone sit down to chat with you! I’ve been so busy, learning new things, trying new things, and I wanted to give you an update!

Fun Things I’ve Done
I just got back from Utah where I hung out with hundreds of other bloggers! There’s a conference once a year called Snap. It’s a chance for us creatives to get together, learn new tricks of the trade, make things, and chat with old friends. This job can become pretty lonely, so I think it’s so important for my emotional health to get out and connect with people who do what I do. Some days I don’t interact with anyone at all! That’s one of the downfalls of working from home. But when I get to go to conferences like Snap, I get to renew and recharge, and catch up with people who understand me and the struggles that come with this job.
I met so many new friends and got a chance to catch up with others. Last time I was at a conference, I promised myself I would take more pictures. Of course I didn’t. womp womp. I did snap a couple! (no pun intended)
Me, Ananda from A Piece of Rainbow; Leanne from Diva of DIY
This picture basically sums up the trip. This is me and Allison from Refunk My Junk. The smile on my face is absolutely priceless! We were giggly and tired and having the time of our lives! You’d never guess that we just met for the first time at Snap! But I’m so happy I met her, and so so many others. I honestly cannot wait until next year!
Fun Things I’ve Tried
I started making more video tutorials for you! And BOY is it a learning curve! There’s honestly nothing more deflating than recording an entire video just for it to be out of focus! But I’m always trying to learn new things, so I’ve really been dedicating a lot of time to that. That’s really been a big focus during my work day, so that’s partly why I’ve slowed down on my blog posts.
One thing I realize is that when you look at people who seem to be able to do it all, they’re really not doing it all. Do you think Nicole Curtis has to worry about getting the right shot when she’s renovating a house? Nope. Do you think Joanna’s gotta worry about editing photos and making sure her site is running smoothly? Nope. Maybe one day I’ll get to where I can have a team of people, and I can just focus on being creative! But until then, I’m gonna have some blurry video tutorials ok? OK! 🙂
I did manage to make a channel trailer, so you should go check that out on my youtube channel [click here]. And I look forward to sharing this new journey, just be patient as I learn and grow in this new venture!
Fun Things I’ve Read
OK, not to be the worst fan ever, but I finally got around the reading The Magnolia Story. Can I just say what an inspiration these two people are!? They really share their story and they don’t leave out any detail. Reading that book really helped me to appreciate the season I’m in, and it just reminded me that life is not a TV show. It takes real hard work, and chasing a dream isn’t always glamorous either! I would definitely recommend this book. I actually bought the audiobook, which chip and Joanna recorded. So it was doubly fun to listen to them tell their stories.
I have an audible subscription, so I get credits toward books every month. I love audible because with such a busy schedule, I wouldn’t be able to read! I’m able to download a book right to my phone, pop in my headphones or plug my phone into the car and just listen while I’m traveling. I sometimes even listen to books while I’m working on projects around the house. It’s a game changer for me! You can actually get a free 30 day trial and download 2 free audiobooks by clicking [here].
Next on my to read list is Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance. Have you read it? It was recommended to me twice in one weekend, so I think it’s probably something I should read.
A few good deals:
This weekender bag is gigantic, adorable, and seriously cheap. It’s on sale right now!! It would be the perfect bag for a day at the beach, or a personal item for a plane ride. Get your weekender bag while you still can!
This little firepit would look so cute on a patio, and reviews give it 4 stars. Sounds like it would be super for the price.
And that’s about it for me & fun things Friday! Thanks for checking in friends! And I hope to chat with you soon!
