This episode is hands down one of my favorites. But then who am I kidding, I love them all! I love the french country farmhouse look the homeowners were going for and I think Joanna nailed it! The open concept floor plan from the living room to the eat in kitchen makes the space feel huge, but still warm and inviting. The two rooms are cohesive and have a great flow. The dark beams on the ceiling add a lot of interest and character to the space and the huge brick fireplace is definitely the focal point of the room. Add some faux wood beams to your ceiling with this awesome tutorial! Don’t you just love that wood storage alcove?
I absolutely love the white slipcovered sofa with those adorable french grain sack pillows from Restoration Hardware! Unfortunately the pillows are no longer available, but I think I found some pretty great alternatives! The armchairs were originally leather (belonging to the homeowners), but were too masculine for the space, so Joanna had them reupholster to fit with the room. On the coffee table is a dutch tulip crate, that Joanna uses frequently in her decor, filled with demijohn bottles and flowers for a pop of color.
Even though the room is full of neutral decor it is certainly far from boring! The neutral decorative accents really add to the french flair the homeowners loved! That amazing large window and doors let in tons of natural light which keeps the room feeling light, bright and open.
