Much like any of her designs, this living room on Season 1 Episode 1 of “Fixer Upper” had me hooked. I love that she painted the trim white and lightened up the space. The sofa she chose and that shelving unit are so versatile and can be used with so many decor styles. I also love that while the coffee table is on the larger size, because of the design, it doesn’t feel like it’s taking up the whole room. I LOVE pops of blue she pulls in with the pillows and the chairs!
Jo Jo incorporates “found” and antique decor with new. She always finds the perfect mix and balance. This antique buffet she uses and that old blue scale adds such character to the space. Paired with that light and the updated stairs, it just makes you feel right at home.
See that Shiplap in the sitting room in the back? You can recreate that look by following this tutorial.
If you prefer more of a rustic shiplap look you can use reclaimed lumber as well following this tutorial.
